24h 24h in a city

DUBAI BY NATHALIE TRAD

Born in Beirut, raised in Dubai, Nathalie Trad, very talented founder of her eponymous brand is bringing you for 24h in Dubai!

On a morning when I wake up feeling particularly energetic, I like to fill up every second of my day.

9am- My first thought: breakfast! I dress up in my daily uniform of casual denim shorts and a t-shirt, and head out to Ripe Market for some fresh organic food at the farmer’s market, good music and beautiful weather.

11 am- After that, a Dubai must is spending the day on one of the many beaches. I head to Kite Beach; where you’ll find yourself surrounded by the hot sand, blue sea and kite-surfers. My husband and I love to rent out some paddleboards and paddle to the middle of the sea, play backgammon, and unwind after a hectic workweek.

2pm- Lunch time! A trip to kite beach would be incomplete without some SALT burgers. SALT made its in mark on Kite Beach last year with its food truck, which, through popular demand, ended up staying permanently at Kite Beach. It is, by far, the best burger in town.

4pm- For a truly relaxing experience, I recommend a pit stop at the One & Only Hammam. I tend to do this once every few months for a sense of escape and R&R.

6pm- I swing by The Jetty Lounge (which happens to also be at the One & Only) for some drinks. Perfect place to enjoy the sunset with a few of my closest friends

9pm- What’s for dinner? We are spoiled for choice in Dubai with a new restaurant opening every week. But, as a Dubai resident since the late 80’s, I always like to go back to one of Dubai’s staples, Teatro for a cozy home-style setting and incredible food.

12am- It’s the weekend, there’s no excuse to turn in early. Stereo Arcade is our next stop. With a choice of bar or club, we choose the club for some good old 90’s classics.

3am- What better way to end the night than with a warm “man’oushe” – a traditional Lebanese street food staple consisting of flat bread spread with some wild thyme, sumac, sesame seeds and olive oil – at one of Dubai’s oldest restaurants, Al Reef Bakery, where everyone comes together after a night out.
